How to stop procrastinating and get things done.
This is so totally me today. I ran into this mindset earlier last week, when I realized that I had some specific things to do, and no way in the world to get them done on time, so… I procrastinated.
Did it help me get them done?
Did I stop procrastinating?
I kept it up, until I was pushing the deadline. Then… Then, yeah, after it was totally too late, I realized that I’d pushed way too far into the deadline and one item on my list had to be done on time. I was in trouble.
So, there I sat, trying to figure out what to do.
That’s when it hit me…. I have to get it done. I can’t continue staring at it.
I switched off all the distractions and started doing what I had to get done. And within a few minutes, I realized it wasn’t taking near as long as I thought it would. I finished the first item, then the second item.
Within a few hours, each of the items was completely done, and I was ahead of my deadline.
So here’s the three step process:
1 – Turn off the distractions.
2 – Recognize your deadline and get started.
3 – Don’t stop until it’s done.
And it works!
