Are you a blogger but unsure how you can always add value, and still write something every single day? It isn’t difficult. The key is to have a plan, and use that plan as you write your blog posts.
If you want to make money online, blogging is the simplest form of traffic generation, business development, and profitable marketing that you will find… Anywhere. And anyone who has an idea they can write about can make money doing it with a little forethought and effort.
1 – Offer Solution Based Discussion to Increase Blog Value
Established pro-bloggers offer high-quality content in almost every blog. But occasionally, like 20% of their blog posts, they just have some fun. Rant a little. Show some grit, teeth, and humor. Or better yet, they share their personal experiences and let others appreciate what they have accomplished.
One of my favorite bloggers is always talking about his travel time. Always nice to see where he’s been, because he travels to exotic places, but I really prefer the personal side of his travels over the WHERE he traveled. I want to know what happened.
A key component of this concept is to invite others into your life and share with them what you accomplish. Give them value 80% of the time, and 20% of the time, give them enough of you to keep them returning frequently.
2 – Stay Focused on Whatever Your Primary Topic Is
Never stray far from the sidewalk of your main topic.
The funniest story I ever heard about a blog was how hard this guy worked to bring in traffic for his health based blog, and then he wrote a personal revelation about going off on a weekend drunk where he ended up in the hospital in a diabetic coma. He wasn’t supposed to be drinking. He knew that. So what he was doing off on a weekend drunk was anybody’s bet… But the reality? It drove away his readers. They didn’t appreciate his bad sense of self care.
Blogging isn’t necessarily a single topic entity, you can write about a variety of things, as long as they’re related and they follow through.
Recently, I’ve even caught myself burning bridges with rants. So far, I’ve written them, recognized the problem and not published – because, well… Bad Business. But the point is… I’ve been tested.
You need a plan to keep yourself focused and on topic. Stay focused. Write on topic.
3 – Build Profit With Marketable Products & Services.
No matter how many solutions you offer, and no matter how many blog posts you write, if you don’t offer any products or services on your website, you’re not going to make a profit. So it’s really important that you have at least one product, or service, to sell to your targeted traffic.
For instance, I sell websites, hosting, and graphic elements for other people’s websites. That’s the service/product I offer. And it’s really a great way to help other people build their businesses online. When I realized that many people don’t know what to offer, I started offering consulting services.
I have several niche bloggers who sell some really high-quality products and services, many of them are not internet based.
With so many options available, all you have to do is pick a topic and start writing. Find a resource for your products, or start creating products on one of the many great options available.
Main Street – Storefront businesses already have products and services. The key to marketing your Main Street storefront online, is to present ways for online customers to buy your products, or receive your services. And sell them to local buyers.
